The microchip, or "Integrated Circuit Board" is used to make high tier Circuit Boards. It's basically a CPU at this point, which is why it had the tool tip that said it's a integrated circuit board. It was named "microchip" so you wouldn't be confused with the normal circuit boards and try to use this item in place of a circuit board's usage recipe.

The texture is actually 32 x 32 instead of 16 x 16, that's why it looks more detailed and smaller.
