Crafting, Smelting and other GUIs...[edit source]

Hey, i was wondering how to do the crafting, smelting or a custom GUI for the wiki. Kinda like what minecraft wiki and other mod wikis have? Thanks! MCE626 (talk) 23:00, 12 Dec. 2013

What the minecraft wiki has done is very complicated and they are waiting on a new extension before they overhaul it. If you can hold on a bit longer, we can work with them and implement the newer system here (the 7 Days to Die wiki is also on this list) — Game widow (talk) 12:30, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
ok cool, i can wait -- MCE626 (talk) 20:52, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Stuff![edit source]

Hi i saw u said somethin of twitch or twitter feed thing that u could add on my friend's page? can i has that for mine too? :D

Also, is it possible to have something like mc's wiki with the blocks/items thingy at the bottom of a block/item page? with the little picture block/item next to it's name? that'd be awesome to have...

And, do you know how they made their block pictures for their wiki? like did they make something that takes a flat block texture and put it in a block like that? or did they just use photoshop and used angles and stuff...

-- MCE626 (talk) 23:40, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

I've made Twitter templates for you and Drew and put them on your respective user pages. The Twitch feeds will take a little longer as i need to have an extension (Widgets) added to this wiki. And finally, yes, we can make a template like the blocks legend that is used on the Minecraft wiki, but that will take me a little longer to make. Minecraft wiki uses some pretty complex templates.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean about the block images. Can you link to one so that i can see ? — Game widow (talk) 18:40, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
sweet, thanks! Here's a pic of the image thing - or the link to the page -
i was wondering how did they made that stone pic, with all the side perfectly inline with each other? Idk if there is some program that did it, or if they just used photoshop or something... And how did they do that for non-cubed blocks like the anvil, stairs, etc... idk if u know or not, but i'd like to find out somewhere..
If they did do it in photoshop, i want to know what are the angles for the sides... what i did for mine is i used "distort" and tried to line it up as best i could, but it always came out a little blurry or slightly off...
Anyway, thanks for the other stuff!
oh, and can we do for the infobox for the "tool" input, like how mc wiki has? or somethin like it? i kinda like that idea... if you do't know what i mean, it's on that stone page i linked up before... :D -- MCE626 (talk) 21:09, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
ok, so i've made the Twitch widgets for yourself and Drew and added them to your user pages. As for how they make images, you'd really have to ask the Minecraft people. All i know is that those images were uploaded to the wiki as you see them (MCW:File:Stone.png). I don't know what happened prior to that. I've also managed to copy the blocks navigator from the minecraft wiki, but your blocks will need to be added. — Game widow (talk) 22:41, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
thanks! i'll see if i can get a hold of one of those mc wiki guys... And i made some navigators for blocks, items, and environment -- MCE626 (talk) 22:47, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

History[edit source]

Hey. Could you do something like the history table like on mc wiki? i don't need it to be all complicated like how they actually have, i just didn't know how to do the header/title of the version to expand over the whole length, and have the version off to the left, and colored.... thanks! -- MCE626 (talk) 00:49, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Do you mean their version history page ? — Game widow (talk) 21:55, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
Not quite. i mean the table they have towards the bottom of a block/items page that has the history of it and tells it's changes and when it was added and stuffs... Like this -
ok it's much easier for me to tell if you just link to the actual minecraft wiki page, seeing an image doesn't tell me much (usually). To make a link to the minecraft wiki, all you need to do is make a link like this: [[MCW:pagename]] — Game widow (talk) 00:40, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
oh, well it's on most of the block's or item's pages, but that pic i got from the seeds page. -- MCE626 (talk) 00:49, 23 December 2013 (UTC)
I've copied over their templates relating to those history sections — Game widow (talk) 00:57, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Renaming Pages[edit source]

Hey, i was wondering how to rename a page... Lol this seems like a stupid question, but i can't seem to find like a... "Rename page" or something button..option thing on that little arrow by "history". Idk if there's an actual way to rename a page, or the only way to do it is with the console thing you have or whatever... If there isn't away, i can just make a new page and copy the stuff over...

Sorry for the so many requests and questions... Wikia couldn't do all this stuff we've done so far (or at least i don't think they could..), so there's still much stuff idk, lols... :s -- MCE626 (talk) 09:35, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

It's no trouble at all, the option is on that little drop-down menu immediately to the left of the search bar at the top right of the screen and it's labelled "Move". — Game widow (talk) 14:49, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
oooh... I thought that did something else.. Thanks! -- MCE626 (talk) 16:59, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Hidden Pages[edit source]

Is there a way to create a page and then make it hidden so only admins or what ever can only see it, then when an update of my mod comes out do like a mass un-hide so it's all updated and stuffs? This would help a lot, as i like to edit as i'm adding to the mod so i don't have to do it later, and so then when the update comes out, the wiki is up to date on stuffs...

Sorry, no there isn't. Mediawiki is just not built that way. The only thing i can suggest is installing mediawiki software on your own computer. Then you could have your own local copy of the whole wiki, or just an empty one, where you could make the page and have it ready to go. Then on the day when you want it to appear, you can just do one large copy / paste and be done with it — Game widow (talk) 14:02, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Lol[edit source]

Hello, i have a question. What gender are you? I put on the main page of this wiki a shout out to you and all that you've done, and i put "She has done..." and didn't even realize that i probably should have asked first. Lols.. -- MCE626 (talk) 21:52, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

I am indeed a she — Game widow (talk) 20:51, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

Craftingssss[edit source]

Hey, i noticed that the crafting... module thing kinda worked. It's a little messed up, idk if i'm doing the thing wrong or it's messed up in where ever it is. I could still use it on the pages for at least it works to an extent you still know what the recipe is.. Also does this work for smelting thing too? I haven't tested that out yet. -- MCE626 (talk) 06:02, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Edit: Also, is the new crafting thing a module? And does it include smelting/brewing and making new gui recipe thinggies? Thanks! -- MCE626 (talk) 14:05, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

If it's a module, it's nothing i've done or am familiar with. Anything i've added was done with no real knowledge or understanding of what they do on the Minecraft wiki — Game widow (talk) 14:21, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

Name change stufffffff[edit source]

Hi!!!!!! So eventually i'm going to change the name of meh mod. This wont happen til Beta 2.0 comes out, but i was wondering if your able to change the link. i know you can change page names, so that's not a problem. -- MCE626 (talk) 14:01, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

by "link", do you mean the name of this wiki? or just running a bot to update the links on this wiki ? Either is possible — Game widow (talk) 14:10, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Yes i mean the link you use to actually get to the wiki. As you know right now it's "", are you able to change it to ""? Obviously the "WhatEverNewModName" wouldn't be the actual name. I need come up with one still.... -- MCE626 (talk) 22:26, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Yes, we can change the url and all the links inside the wiki, but I hope you don't expect to do this too many times. — Game widow (talk) 22:16, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Hello, can the wiki link be changed to and name to IDT Mod Wiki. Thanks! -- MCE626 (talk) 20:59, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
I'm fairly sure that's fine. I'll let you know shortly — Game widow (talk) 14:26, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
Ok thanks! -- MCE626 (talk) 20:36, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
Hey can you give me a few min heads up before you change it, if you can? I wanna change places where i have linked this wiki to the new url as soon as i can. -- MCE626 (talk) 00:48, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Hey will it send me an email saying the name and link has been change like it does when someone edits a page i'm watching? As soon as it's changed i want to update links from places i posted them. -- MCE626 (talk) 06:41, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
Sorry i completely forgot about this until just now. So, at them moment, you can use either or and they will go to this wiki. I imagine you'd also like the project name changed from More Blocks Mod Wiki to IDT Mod Wiki ? or would you prefer Industrial Technologies Mod Wiki? Either is fine — Game widow (talk) 15:23, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! I like IDT Mod wiki cause it's short, yet i do like the full name. But I think i'll do IDT Mod Wiki since it's nice and short. Well i'm going to update the links from other places now. -- MCE626 (talk) 16:18, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
Will the link "moreblocksmod.gamepedia" be removed completely to only have "idtmod.gamepedia", or will the idtmod link always direct toward the moreblocksmod one? -- MCE626 (talk) 17:01, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, I guess i never saw that message. Is that what you want? to ditch "moreblocksmod.gamepedia" completely, or to have it remain, but have "idtmod.gamepedia" be the primary ? (i've logged a ticket with our platform team) — Game widow (talk) 14:51, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, i'd like to just get rid of the "" entirely and just have the "idtmod.gamepedia" be the link. Thanks! -- MCE626 (talk) 16:21, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
Done — Game widow (talk) 16:36, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

Grid[edit source]

Hello. Again for the 20th time, lol. I was wondering about the grid system thing. I'm nearing the end of editing the wiki to be up to date to the most recent version of my mod, so i'll be uploading images soon. For the image for the grid, do i just upload a 32x32 sized image (or what ever size it is) named "Grid whatever-block/item"? or do i also have to do some weird formatting like i did with the ItemCSS.png thing? Just wondering! Thanks. -- MCE626 (talk) 13:57, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Again, please contact the administrators of the Minecraft wiki. Majr is a good place to start. — Game widow (talk) 14:54, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
Ah, ok. i'll asked Majr. -- MCE626 (talk) 15:28, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Sortable Tables[edit source]

Hey I've noticed lately that sortable tables are weird. They have the arrow thing all over the place on the title boxes. You can check out the Splash page to see, or what i added below.

Weird Arrow Thing
! Eep Ah!
I'm Not Sure
What's Going On..
I think it's sorted now — Game widow (talk) 15:09, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
