The Normal torches have the same function as vanilla torches. They give off the same amount of light, and drop when the block beneth them is mined, or when water runs into them.
The Redstone torches act the same as vanilla redstone torches. They give off a small amount of light, and they give off a redstone signal. They go off when given a redstone signal and again, drop when the block beneth them is mined or when water flows into them.
